"Well that's a dumb rule," Antipodean muttered. "Fine, what's the scoop?"

"Well, right now, we're trying to determine if MJH's mom is an evil mastermind or if we should blame Canada. The Canada thing was Narrator's idea.

"Well, I didn't hear much of what was going on out here, cause I was a little busy with Sven and um, this other hottie here, but I did overheard MJH and her mum discussing orbs, laughing about soul-sucking spells, and that type of thing while they popped in video tapes."

"Well, that's good enough for me," said TheKristen. "Closet Buffyholic in Absentia, give me your whip. It's torture time. They don't call us the torture team for nothing."

OK, but you can't take my sassy boots." CB handed Kristen her the whip of doom.

"I've got my own sassy boots, thank you very much." Kristen took the whip and headed off MJH and Paula as they tried to sneak away.

Destiny To some extent I agree with Kameko regarding Angel's attitude toward Faith as opposed to Lindsey. I think that with Faith there was an element of seeing her start down the wrong path and thus the knowledge that there was something there to salvage. He already had something of minor though it may have been a personal involvement with her that would have helped drive his efforts. (And let's not forget that he also initially interceded at Buffy's request.) I always sort of felt that Angel sized Lindsay up in a few minutes and wasn't convinced that he was really interested in getting away. Lindsay had qualms about that particular assignment with the children. And he felt fear about breaking away from W&H. But, I don't think Angel picked up much in the way of regret over past actions. (I didn't, at any rate.) It didn't appear to me that Lindsay had come to some sort of epiphany where he'd decided "hey, I'm living my life wrong, something's gotta change." It was more of a "I'm not so sure about this particular thing, maybe somebody else can save the situation." Following the side of Light is rarely easier than the Dark side and is usually a lot less rewarding. Angel helped with the particular task at hand, but it was up to Lindsay to make the decision as to whether he was ready to break away. W&H gave him to opportunity walk away, but Lindsay, lured by the promise of more power and money, chose to stay. In the end, he preferred that over the uncertainty and danger of switching sides. I'm not sure that there's anything that Angel could have done to change Lindsey's mind because he couldn't offer money, security, power, or even comfort. And that, ultimately, is what I think Lindsey was looking for when a twinge of consience got in his way for a brief period of time. I haven't watched Blind Date in a long time, I could be overlooking some nuances.

Principle. They have a tendancy to get eaten.

4a For your good side, what is the ideal happy ending to the charcters and BTvs as a whole?
Willow and Oz hook up, Joyce and Giles get married and run the museum and the majik shop as partners, Xander and Anya make it legal and have several little ex-demon kids, Cordy actually makes it big as a film star, Wesley returns to the WC and re-vamps (no pun there *G*) the entire workings, Riley goes on to have a very fruitful career in the military, attaining the rank of General eventually, and then of course...........Angel reaches SHANSHU stage, becomes mortal, Buffy reaches the age of 21, a thing as of yet unheard of, which gains her retirement. She loses her slayer powers, the next slayer is called. So she and Angel get married, have 2.5 kids, a house with a picket fence, and a mini van. *G*

4b For that lurking dark side, what is the ideal tragic way ending for BTVS?
Well, I guess a huge fight with a BIG BIG Bad, everyone sacrifices themselves in the fight. Buffy watches as Willow goes up in flames, Anya gets turned into a demon again, Xander gets staked by a vamp with a sick sense of humor, Giles turns into his Ripper self, charges in without thinking and gets totaled by Ethan, Riley and all the Initiative guys get blown up, Buffy gets sucked dry by Angelus, who in another sick sense of humor, the BIG BAD then turns him back into Angel who sees what he has done and walks into the sunlight.
Joyce gets left behind to tend the graves.
Okay......NOW I'm depressed.

MeeB shook her head. "I don't see it. I've checked with Angle Man, Safarigirl and others, and they are just as upset as we are about RTBS. Besides, if they would go after anyone, it would be you, Narrator. There's the whole "War of 1812" thing, after all."

Hello again,

Destiny: Interesing Lindsey Vs Faith. Well, OBVIOUSLY Angel has a thing for Slayers...just kidding.

I think there is not a difference between his treatment of them. Faith eventually was revealed to WANT Angel's help (first by wanting him to kill her) and then to get out of that evil rut she had fallen into. She has continued on that path. Lindsey also was given help by Angel when it appeared he was trying to redeem himself. Lindsey is the one who went back on that whereas Faith did not (as of yet).

I also think that the Darla aspect of Lindsey's machinations is really what is driving Angel bonkers--he has issues with Darla.

Also--I think he sees how Faith got to where she was, and that it wasn't really what she WANTED, but what she felt she was forced into. Regardless--Faith is responsible for her actions, but I think that Angel sees that it doesn't have to be that way--in that Faith felt she HAD to do those things (Basically to get what she felt was love--from the Mayor).

Lindsey on the other hand has chosen a life-long path (almost life-long) of doing evil deeds with W&H for his own benefit. He actively seeks to hurt people for personal gain. Faith just hurts people as a matter of course it seems.

Or it could be that he knows Faith is hot for him and is looking to get some smootchies. :)

With Graham successfully freed and at least sentient enough to follow Leather Jacket and Eiddileg and her cheetos out to safety, the rest of the MJH Torture Team springs to action. Well, first there's some tripping and general bumping into one another because it's hard to spring after riding around in a cramped Hummer for days on end. There's also a slight hangover-like feeling from the trip through the Big Glowing Portal-y Thing back in Ohio. So. . . we're not talking Green Beret action here. Well, except Circe. But then, she had that massage from Manuel in Cannes so . . . anyway.

A few weak-ass, beer-gutted security guards scurry around as Paula Hart barks orders at them. Polgara, Vanessa, and Dalia take them on with ease. James Marstersadopts his Spike persona to intimidate MJH, causing Cate to *EEP* loudly and hae to sit down on her hands to keep from jumping him and running her fingers through his hair. Such restraint is appreciated by her team members. With James backing MJH into a corner, Closet Buffyolic in absentia keeps her there using her nifty bull whip. Cuz of the fun!

Meanwhile, MeeB, Kristen, and Narrator (who, btw, re-joined the team after giving up on finding the Roswell boys and realizing the safety of RTBS and the world were more important) square off against Paula Hart.

Destiny - Good topic! Actually, I have a different take on the Angel/Lindsey thing. In Blind Date, Angel was willing to listen when Lindsey came to him, but he wasn't willing to listen to excuses, which is why we got that great, "Sorry. Must have dozed off. Did we get to the part where you're evil?" line. Angel wanted Lindsey to back up his words about wanting to change with action in breaking into W&H and helping rescue the kids.

The following week, Angel was disappointed to hear that Lindsey had gone back to W&H but his feelings didn't turn to genuine animosity until Lindsey threatened Cordelia's life and sanity by trying to burn the scroll. And after that, he was involved in the whole Darla thing. It seems to me that the only time we see real hatred or anger from Angel is when someone threatens a friend.

I agree about the discrepancy between Angel's treatment of Lindsey and Faith. It might be partly because Angel knew Faith before she turned to evil, and it might be partly because Faith is female and Angel has a knight-in-shining-armor complex.

"This is bad," Circe says.

"Yea," Closet Buffyholic in Absentia adds. "If it was anything but the Olsen twins, maybe we could bring him back. If he's going to stay like this, maybe the humane thing to do is ...."

"NO!!" Leather Jacket sobs. "We aren't going to put him down like some ... RTBS! We're going to save him!!!

"Let me try something," Eiddileg interjects. She walks over to the singing Graham. The tension in the room is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Looking the commando in the eye, Eiddileg asks: "Want a Cheeto?"

Something in that moment seems to reach the inner brain of Graham. His eyes flicker, then blink. He stops singing that nursery rhyme.

deadguy: QOD - Ditto on OzLady's answer. That just floored me. One other surprise for me was also when Angelus broke Jennys neck. Just like that.

One thing that has me kinda puzzled is the complete and total animosity that Angel has towards LIndsey. It seems he has an unending hatred of him. Even when Lindsey was in his "get out of W&H alive" phase, Angel didn't really cut the guy a break or really encourage him to change and choose the right path. He has given Faith (who has hurt entirely more people) more benefit of the doubt and encouragement that he ever extended to Lindsey. I would think that Lindseys soul is just as important to save as hers. Perhaps if Angel had been more encouraging, Lindsey wouldn't have gone back to W&H.

Just an FYI to all Bronzers

In case any of you haven’t scrolled the boards from last evening and/or during the night, we had some Buttheads mischief makers who posted a redirect script that took the bronze to a website that contained a virus called crasher.exe had you entered it. Fortunately Apollo was still in the office and they were able to remove the script, however a short time after that, a post was left by a Mr. Fortune, offering money for listening to music which linked to a download that also contained a virus. Last but not least, apparently there is an email that’s also making is paces through Bronzers containing a program called Snow White…do not open it as it contains a virus too.

Bronzers, please be very careful when you follow links from someone who you’re not familiar with or have never seen posting before. If you don’t have the latest updates from your virus protection software or don’t even have virus protection software, it might not be a bad idea to get something or remind yourself to update what you do have, sooner rather than later.

For those of you traveling to the Buffy Mecca this February, the Bronze Online Safety, with some help from Kristen & Blade has developed a page of useful info to ensure a good safe time for everyone. In addition to some Bronzer/LA specific safety tips, there are also phone numbers and websites for directions, hotel info, and transportation from LAX and around LA.

This is a sort of feedback-preflight of the page, please email Allyson or Tana if you have any suggestions or questions regarding the info and set up of the page. We hope that you can just print it out and take it with you, as a sort of checklist. For some of you expert travelers, this info may seem a bit redundant, but I think overall it's a decent resource! Safe Travel and Resources



Also, for those of you flying into LA for the PBP week-end, I’ve set up revamped a page to list Bronzers’ arrival and departure times and dates. I know there is a thread for this at the PBP forum, but sometimes the individual threads are hard to follow. Since the page that I’ve set up lists the data in a formatted style it may be easier for some of you to read and check against your own flight times. If you’d like to be added, please visit the page and then email the information to me.

The intrepid team of the Melissa Joan Hart Torture Team is wandering the halls of Paramount, trying vainly to find MJH so they can torture her to find out what happened to RTBS and how to restore his soul and get him back to normal. They stumble across Claris, who is lying in a hallway, sleeping.

"Hey," Polgara interrupts. "Leave some of the h*tties for the rest of us!"
"Miss Missi has been naughty," LJ says sternly, "and shall have no cakes today."
Eiddileg hand Missi a Cheeto, but only one. "They're better than cakes anyway," she whispers.
LJ tries the door, which is, of course, locked like any good door to a secret dungeon would be. But that doesn't stop our stalwart team. Circe in a cat suit comes up to the door and kicks it in. The team bursts through finding another door, which Circe doesn't even try before kicking it in.
"Somebody had her Wheaties," Polgara says.
MeeB takes LJ aside, "Look, this isn't going to be one of those endless door stories, is it? We need to get going!"
LJ points to the door, which leads to a stairway, which leads to the dungeon. They climb down and find Graham - not Bailey, thank yew very much -- manacled - not tied, thank yew very much! - to an uphostered chair.
Graham's vacant eyes stare out fixedly. "I'm a little teapot short and stout / here is my handle here is my spout / when I get all steamed up hear me shout / tip me over and pour me out"
The television is showing season 6 of Full House. MJH, who hasn't yet noticed our team, turns to her mother and says, "Does he have to sing that freakin' song?"
"The programming hasn't affected his language centers completely yet. Give it time, he'll be docile before we have to resort to Two of a Kind."
"So," MJH asks, "why aren't these videos affecting us?"
"Because," Paula Hart says, "I'm evil and you don't have a brain that would be affected by mindless drivel."
"Oh, cool! Thanks! Hey, wait a minute, that was a dig, wasn't it?"

I suppose I'd say Wesley. We've already seen secrets from Giles and Tara, Angel and Anya have pasts that are nothing but darkness, we know about Buffy's pre-slayer life, and Willow, Xander, and Cordy grew up in Sunnydale.

2 Is there a horrible moment in an ep of BTVs that made you think "Oh! fugk that" and felt glad that thing never happened to you?
That happens pretty much every week.

3 The job in Sunnydale you'd least like to have is?
Vampire slayer.

4a For your good side, what is the ideal happy ending to the characters and BtVS as a whole?
Human Angel reunited with Buffy, permanent closing of the Hellmouth, Willow and Xander in love, and Jenny returning from the dead to marry Giles.

4b For that lurking dark side, what is the ideal tragic way ending for BTVS?
The Hellmouth opens and everyone dies.

SPOILERY for Reunion I loved the way they moved Dru through the centuries. When we see her in The Trial she is as we have always known her.. hair back, lace dresses, deep colours, pale skin. By the time we see her in the nursery her hair is down, she’s wearing Docs, and she has a fresh vibrant colour (sure she might have eaten, I’m ignoring that). And then they move her on, to leather. And cropped tops. And bellybutton rings. It was really well done. She’s still as weird and freaky as ever, but she freaks equally about worms and soil and ringing telephones.
