ripley: I used to live in New Orleans, but sadly the nearest Krispy Kreme was in Biloxi, Mississippi. One night I got a craving, so I made the drive. I found the small bakery after completing a caffeine-crazed, 4:30 am sweep of the city; it a large neon donut, half-lit on the roof, and a small drive-through window on the side. I was teary eyed with joy... but sadly, when I got to the window, the girl told me that they had just sold out. After the sort of a sigh that tends to make small donut shop employees a little uncomfortable, I told her of my journey. She was impressed and made some cookies for me on the house - damn fine cookies, by the way. But Krispy Kreme donuts, they were not.

A week later I made the trip again and the girl (Jennifer), remembering me with a laugh, just handed me a bag and wished me a safe drive home.

Pointless? Perhaps. Inspirational? Absolutely.

I'm doing just great, surviving junior year (20 credit hours, I think I'm some kind of masochist) and planning for PBP2000 and of course spending a ton of spare time in here as always. I'm incapable of lurking, i must post. Life is also great, still living with RAS (who completely gave up Buffy after season two) so instead we rant to each other over Pretender (jared=yummy) and now Roswell.
You attending PBP2000? I've realized recently that I never got to talk to half the people I wanted to (at least not for any amount of time)

Witchy-----The hellmouth has broken loose here. My dad has inoperable cancer of the lung, so I'm up to see him every month for now, until I need to stay longer. The one hatchling I spoke to you about last year is doing very well academically, but still having episodes of depression. So, during this oct. break I'm setting things up for her to get evaluated. On the positive side, hatchling #2 started college this fall, is loving it, and is very happy. Hatchling #3 is a sophomore in high school and doing well. I'm looking forward to the basketball season. She starts practice next week. As for me, I'm up, down, worried, relieved, and a bunch of other emotions all at the same time. But hey, I'm still coherent. Always good to look at the bottom line.

WHO IS Ty King?

Ty King is the grandson of Anastasia Romanov, the last of the Russian royal family, his family in hiding sent him out for
adoption for his protection. Moving to Hollywood at the age of 16 he worked as driver for Heidi Fleiss, with many
hollywood connections resulting from the job Ty was a regular on many hollywood sets. On one of these sets he met Joss Whedon creator of Buffy. When the scandal broke Ty managed to steal a couple of the black books. In gratitude many producers offered Ty whatever he wanted, and what he wanted was to write for Buffy. Joss who was threatend with the exposre of that night in the petting zoo, let Ty write only to be surprised by the quality of the work

After writing SAR and Passion, Ty returned home to try and start the russian revolution again before returning to write for season 3 of Buffy. Unfortunately the plane he was travelling was hijacked and was taking to a small island off the coast of South America. Fighting in jungle Ty finally was able to take over as Supreme Dictator for Life. Sadly the peasants realised that Supreme Dicator for Life didn't mean they had to let Ty live. By the time he returned, all the writing slots on Buffy were filled and Joss' shame was already public. So until the assassin fufills the contract, Ty works as David's body double. {It seems with the positive reaction to FHT Joss has decided that as of episode 4 (when Joss plans to introduce the leather eating demon Fytherk as a regular character) Angel's Butt must seen in every episode and with David's unfortunate chafing they needed someone had to step in.}

I don't think Angel has been given an order past the initial thirteen -- I certainly haven't heard about it, and Joss didn't say anything about it today -- it would be early for that sort of thing.

About Spike -- you can expect to see lots of him doing all kinds of things... things you can't imagine! Things that make me smile. Marti is smiling too. Also Tracey. We're all smiling.

About writing the cross-over that's on Tues -- it was interesting tying the stories together, but not nearly as hard as the crossover in week eight, which I also did half of, because the Angel half of that one started filming before we had even completely figured out the Buffy half... it was wild! But it all worked out in the end. And, may I say, wait till you see Angel ep. 8 -- it's incredible!

It was an interesting struggle because a 35-yr-old woman who just realizes that she's gay can't really NOT date... it would make the coming out meaningless, we felt. And, since the show had always suffered from the lack of a point of view, we took this new aspect of her life and just ran with it. In retrospect, maybe a mistake. But we wrote many episodes that I'm very proud of -- lots of funny, lots of truth.
And, by the way, I still maintain that episodes about her daily life with her girlfriend were no more about "gayness" than Mad About You was about "straightness."
So anyway, an interesting season right up 'til they yanked us off the air!

I just wanted to agree with you that exposure to TV and Movies can help teach about how to write humor and timing (as long as it's quality TV and Movies)

Hi, Joss. Hope all continues to go brilliantly on the sets of your two shows. Is the pressure off at all now that Angel is such a hit? Or has that only upped the ante? And is there any hope that the fangirls among us can persuade you to give in to SMG's request (as reported in Entertainment weekly) that you allow Buffy and Spike to get together?

Little Ducky: Dear, please reconsider before you leave forever. No one is perfect and we have all done or said something on this PB that we have later come to regret, even if only in a small way. Beyond that, I'm sorry to disagree with many of my friends here, but I don't see that what you did was so terrible. All you did was post a story taken from a source that is frequently mentioned on this very PB.

Folks around here post stuff like that all the time. Reviews of the eps, or portions of interviews with the cast. This was NOT a gossip column. This was a news article. It was reported as fact, not rumor, in the fairly reputable online source you took it from. It concerned a major event in the life of a cast member of the show this board exists to promulgate and is thus a legitimate article to post.

I don't think you should feel guilty for having posted it and I certainly don't think you should be chased from the board for it.
This is not to say that we should all sit around and dissect David's marriage or his personal life. His personal life is just that: personal. But merely reporting the fact of the filing of the divorce petition should not be grounds for censor. Because quite frankly, we post bits and pieces about our favorite BtVS actors here all the time.

Again, there is a distinction between gossiping about a star's personal life, or speculating about rumors, and reporting a news item. David's fans can express their regret that he is going through a tough personal situation just the way we expressed our congratulations and best wishes when his marriage was first made public.

As ever, just my $0.02.

And for the record...I am truly sorry to hear that David and the woman he called "a loving force" in his life have come to a parting of the ways.

Nice to meet you. I'd just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you and everyone at Buffy and Angel for creating two wonderful shows. I must admit that the level at which I can relate to the characters and situations you have created is unnerving at times. I feel like I'm watching my life play out on tv. However, in a strange way (strange only because I realize that it is only a fictional program) your show has helped me to deal with alot of the pitfalls in my life. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one out there who is going through these terrible things. (me and Angel, wow! we could swap stories for hours!) It is David's personal life, and, I know it will get around, but because of me it will get around faster and I do feel really bad about that. Carl With all due respect. The question is not wether or it is news it's that it shouldn't be news. Is it unavoidable that it would get posted here? I'd say yeah, but that doesn't mean you have to be the one to post it. As near as I can tell this was on newsgroups and listserves and even the thread for about an hour before it ever appeared here, and not because people didn't know. I can take comfort in the fact that the board pretty much agrees we shouldn't talk about it here. and I also take comfort that I have only seen one offer to 'console' David from his loss. I'd like to think most of the people here are big enough to move past this quickly.

David Boreanaz, whose TV alter ego Angel is struggling to deal with his Buffy breakup, now has a real-life split to contend with.

The 28-year-old actor filed for divorce Friday from his wife of two years, the former Ingrid Quinn, blaming (what else?) irreconciliable differences. According to his court petition, Boreanaz and Quinn have been separated for five days.

In a recent interview with E! Online, Boreanaz talked about his relationship. "Ingrid's always been supportive. She has the same attitude as I do: If you don't get something, it's not meant to be," he said.

"She'll help me along the way, as far as preparing for something. She's tough as nails--one strong Irishwoman."

Maybe too tough for his liking. E! Online gossip columnist Ted Casablanca says all wasn't well in the Boreanaz household: Quinn was reportedly upset that the TV bloodsucker was getting too close to certain cast members on Angel and Buffy, and supposedly making regular visits to the Angel set to check up on her hunky hubby.

The couple started dating back in 1994, when he was a struggling unknown and she was still a social worker (she just sold her first screenplay). The couple got married in June 1997. They didn't have any children.

Also, it's all new, so people don't know that much about what is going on anyway.

2) The dome itself was designed by Michelangelo. There were other artists throughout history that designed different parts of the building including the columns but the dome itself=Michelangelo.

David Boreanaz, whose TV alter ego Angel is struggling to deal with his Buffy breakup, now has a real-life split to contend with.
The 28-year-old actor filed for divorce Friday from his wife of two years, the former Ingrid Quinn, blaming (what else?) irreconciliable differences. According to his court petition, Boreanaz and Quinn have been separated for five days.
In a recent interview with E! Online, Boreanaz talked about his relationship. "Ingrid's always been supportive. She has the same attitude as I do: If you don't get something, it's not meant to be," he said.
"She'll help me along the way, as far as preparing for something. She's tough as nails--one strong Irishwoman."
Maybe too tough for his liking. E! Online gossip columnist Ted Casablanca says all wasn't well in the Boreanaz household: Quinn was reportedly upset that the TV bloodsucker was getting too close to certain cast members on Angel and Buffy, and supposedly making regular visits to the Angel set to check up on her hunky hubby.
The couple started dating back in 1994, when he was a struggling unknown and she was still a social worker (she just sold her first screenplay). The couple got married in June 1997. They didn't have any children

I havn't seen the preview for next week (no WB for me, and VR doesn't run the promos) so I'm going to be surprised : ) I think Angel has a lot of potential, I wasn't even sure if I was going to watch it, but the first two eps have me convinced. I agree that the freshman was a great new beginning, finally got a friend of mine to watch Buffy with that ep. (Her only negative comment was about Willow: "What's with that hair? *g*) As for Giles/Joyce do really think Buffy could handle that? It'd be great for us (I still laugh at Earshot *g*) but not so good for her: "cause you're old, and it's gross." LOL

The new person will soon be with us and I may need to be there to show him how the office works-I'M still trying to figure out how the office works! *lol* It's not that bad :) I just learned that the office will be closed Dec 23-Jan 4...YAY! Paid too...WOOHOO! My it's getting late... Is there another word beyond workaholic...hmmmm...burnout?
